How Our Aftercare Program Works
Completing residential treatment is a major achievement, but the shift from a fully structured clinical environment to independent living can feel abrupt. Many clients find that having a transitional period, where they can practice their new skills in a real-world setting while still receiving clinical support, makes a significant difference to their long-term outcomes. Viva Rehab’s Step-Down Program bridges that gap. Based in Chiang Mai, it gives you the opportunity to gradually reintroduce the responsibilities and routines of everyday life while your clinical team remains within reach.
STEP 1
Personalized Discharge Planning
Before you leave Viva Rehab, your therapist sits down with you to build a Continuing Care Plan tailored to your situation.
Together, you identify potential triggers in your home environment, establish a daily structure that supports your recovery, and map out local resources you can draw on when you return.
STEP 2
Twice-Weekly Online Group Sessions
Once you are home, you join our ongoing aftercare group sessions twice a week via secure video call. Each session runs for 90 minutes and is facilitated by a qualified therapist who guides the group through challenges, progress, and practical strategies for staying on track.
Sessions are scheduled across time zones to accommodate clients around the world.
STEP 3
Continued Clinical Guidance
Our clinical team remains accessible after you leave. If you need more than the group sessions provide, individual sessions are available (additional cost).
Commitment to Your Long-Term Recovery
For clients who complete 12 weeks of residential treatment for drug or alcohol addiction, Viva Rehab offers an Addiction Relapse Warranty. If you experience a relapse within one year of completing treatment, you are eligible to return for an additional 28 days of residential treatment at no extra cost.
